In their first season as part of the well-established Christian Athletic League (CAL), the Providence Hall middle school girls volleyball team is truly shining! With just two regular season games remaining, the Lions’ impressive 7-0 record has them sitting on top of the league. Eighth grade captains Natali Torres and Elleney King have helped bring the team together as a cohesive group, while seventh grade captain Mikaela Torres has provided an encouraging on-court spark. The team has worked hard on consistent serving, and that has been a key component in their wins.
New Providence Hall coaches Lori Haden and Beka Meyer say that while they are certainly pleased with the outcome of the games so far, what they are most proud of is the way the girls represent Providence Hall both on and off the court. Following a recent game, the opposing team’s coaches and parents complimented the PH girls for their positive attitudes, poise, and grace. Team members include Marion Cooper, Sandy Cruz, Veronika Everson, Elleney King, Monika Lopez, Alexandria Marx, Abby Oppenhuizen, Anabelle Pelto, Danica Stevens, Mikaela Torres, Natali Torres, Alexandra Wall-Ortiz, Lauren West, and Junia Work.
