A Brief History
The hopes and dreams of a number of Christian leaders in the Santa Barbara area led to the formation of a group to pray and consider the formation of a Christian high school. It would be very strong academically, and unapologetically committed to an evangelical Christian faith.
They engaged the services of an educational consultant, Dr. Ron Grosh, who was later hired as the first headmaster of Providence Hall High School. After one year of preparation, the school opened its doors in September of 2007 with seven faculty members and 25 students. Roughly half of the beautiful Notre Dame School in historic downtown Santa Barbara was leased as the campus.
Providence Hall received full accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in March of 2009 and offers a complete curriculum based on a core humanities program, mathematics, natural sciences, foreign languages, theatre, visual art, music, physical education, Foundations of the Christian faith, and numerous co-curricular activities such as Christian service opportunities, field trips, outdoor pursuits, concerts, and retreats. In its third year, Providence Hall has 54 students.
