Providence Hall is committed to creating a community that fosters unity and friendship. A number of opportunities are provided: All-School Retreat, Lions Fest, The Philia Project, spirit days, school dances, talent shows, service trips, college tours, vocal concerts, theater performances, and a host more, often conceived and planned by students themselves.
Orientation and Retreat
Every fall, Providence Hall welcomes its incoming students to campus for two days of special events and meetings including new-student and all-parent orientations, Convocation, and the First Walk. Orientation at Providence Hall culminates in the All-School Retreat in late September, a tradition that students look forward to each year.
A range of clubs offer valuable activities for all students. Club offerings include Associated Student Body (ASB), Chamber Choir, Economics Club, Hiking Club, Journalism Club, Scribblers (Writing Club), Yearbook Club, Photography Club, and Theater Club. Students are encouraged to propose new clubs.
Associated Student Body
The ASB is dedicated to developing and modeling student leadership, representing the student body on an administrative level, giving ear to their voice, providing service opportunities, and facilitating school-wide events and activities for all grades.
Traditions and Student Events
Convocation and The First Walk: A worship service celebration marking the opening of each academic year. Faculty, dressed in academic regalia, welcome and speak a charge to the student body. New students take their “First Walk,” led by a drummer and school banners, as they join the Providence Hall community.
New Student Orientation: Various fun and informative events take place to welcome and inform new families, new students, and returning students.
Head of School’s Bash: A welcome party to celebrate the first week of the school year.
