Community Service

At Providence Hall, we view service as integral to our life as Christians. We endeavor to carry out the biblical principle of stewardship of our time, talent, and resources in service to others in the greater Santa Barbara community, and beyond. Students are encouraged to examine their hearts, interests, and gifts and to match these with needs in the community.  Every students is expected to contribute a minimum of 20 hours of community service each year. Many students volunteer significantly more than the minimum required hours out of personal commitment to service and living out a Christian walk.

Philia Project

Every fall, the entire school dedicates a day to community service. This event is called the Philia Project. Philia is one of four Greek words for “love” and this project, which functions as a fundraising serve-a-thon, allows students to demonstrate both their love for their school and for their community.
