2012 FALL FORUM | ERIC METAXAS
Eric Metaxas was the exciting speaker for the third annual Providence Hall Fall Forum. Metaxas also was the keynote speaker at the 2012 National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., an event attended by the President and First Lady, and is gaining an audience across the country. He is the author of Amazing Grace, the biography of William Wilberforce, who successfully ended slavery in Great Britain, and also the recent New York Times #1 bestseller biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. A pacifist German pastor, Bonhoeffer was executed by Adolph Hitler two weeks before the end of the war.
Metaxas has written several other books and appears as a cultural commentator on CNN, the Fox News Channel, and NPR. He is host and founder of Socrates in the City, the acclaimed New York speakers’ series.
In a decidedly eclectic career, Metaxas has written for VeggieTales, Chuck Colson, and the New York Times. He brings humor to his presentations which speak boldly about the need to demonstrate greater personal courage in standing up for what is right and good.
Eric Metaxas is no ordinary speaker and this was no ordinary event. More than 525 people attended Just Desserts and Just Jazz at the third annual Providence Hall Fall Forum.
